Teddy Shalon

Teddy is a managing director at Prolog. He has worked as an entrepreneur, executive, and investor focusing on multidisciplinary technology ventures since 1980s. At the age of 22, Teddy started his first company, which developed surgical devices. He then moved on to medical informatics and co-founded, with Ilya Nykin, Ivy Technologies, a developer of practice management software. Following the acquisition of Ivy by Alcon he co-founded, also with Ilya Nykin, technology incubator Metaphase, where he oversaw all technical and clinical developments. He later became a cofounding chairman of Synteni, a developer of microarrays for measuring gene expression. More recently, Teddy founded ThinOptics, Waterpods, Airxpanders, Osteogenix and BioPolymerix. Teddy holds an MS in Computer Science, a BA in Physics, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
